THE COMING STORM
In my last post I posed the question, is keeping the American Way even possible or are we beyond the “point of no return?” In contemplating the question, examining the issues and weighing all the variables, I believe there is only one course of action left if we are to preserve our democracy.
The criteria I used to make an estimate of the situation is as follows: 1. Current state of the union: A. Economy B. Security C. Foreign dependence D. Cultural harmony F. Religious freedom G. Employment H. National debt I. Health care F. Management of national resources G. Excessiveness H. Election integrity I. Education
2. Branches and departments of government: A. Equitable separation of powers B. Political Polarization of national power C. Weaponization of national power D. Impartial arbitrating and enforcement D. Special and foreign influence
3. Constitution: A. Adherence B. Governmental overreach C. Violations of US citizens individual and Constitutional rights D. US citizens ability to achieve, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness
If you use these criteria and can answer in terms of pros and cons for each one and the sub-issues therein, the conclusions are more then alarming! Now here’s the most worrisome of all. If we’ve strayed so far from our democracies framework, we’ve lost all the checks and balances required to fix the problem. If the system is so broke, we can recognize problems but, we can’t isolate them, or, have the tools available to fix them.
What does that mean to those of us who love this country and the American Way of Life?
It means we have to right what’s wrong and we have to fight to do it! The only recourse available is to stand our ground.
Most will be reluctant at first. Nobody wants to compromise their personal comfort and individual investments. We’ve worked to hard for it, right? But the reality is, if you don’t fight, the loss is assured! Just look at the criteria presented. Does any of that lead to liberty, freedom or prosperity?
Remember, the Constitution is on your side. Sentinels stand for what is righteous and fight to preserve it when necessary!
“When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – You may know that your society is doomed.” Ayn Rand
